Three years after leaving Saudi Arabia, I took a job as a private nurse in Bahrain, a tiny island 14 miles off the shores of Saudi Arabia. My one month assignment lasted for ten, and I had a lot of time on my hands as there were 8 servants in the house and a lot of family members tending to my terminally ill patient. The sights and sounds of the Arab world brought back a flood of memories and I started a memoir of my time in Saudi. I set it aside for years.
