Born in France, I switched from English to Italian at the equivalent of your High School (found English too difficult... oh My Golly... how could I?). I never studied English again until I moved to Australia in 1975 where I was offered an intensive course at the Royal Melbourne Insitute of Technology. I graduated First of my class, and after a few months started writing short stories, poems and articles in English. Never looked back since, despite I write in both languages with the same ease.
Shakespeare and Milton have probably been the major influences and my motivation to write.
