After serving with the Peace Corps in Brazil in the 1960s, I fell in love with the country  and one Brazilian girl in particular. For most of the next thirty years I was in business there and published a number of articles in Portuguese. When my elderly parents came to need me, I returned to the U.S. and when my wife died of cancer, I published a dual-language book of poems, Remembering Neila / Lembrando a Neila dedicated to her memory.
