I'm taking a little time to catch up on some postings of the past month I haven't had the opportunity to read and this one really tugged at me, Susan. If love were only more predictable and if outside influences didn't have to get in the way. I think sometimes we are afraid of putting our cards on the table in fear of losing what we have, but what is that telling us...exactly what you state at the end of the poem..."Take your time... a hike perhaps
If you go then don't look back." I can so relate to the heart of this poem, my friend.

Some amazing lines in this one, Susan; my favorite is,

"Goosebumps building cities where/
Nothing ever gave a dare...." BRILLIANT image!

The pathways through life of each of us are enigmatic itineraries plotted either by The Light or by the dark. We understand little of it until we have traveled further into the future a few stints. Then some of the distance we have covered, what happened to us and what we did begins to show meaning to us. And sometimes this is not even the case or events are bestowed with an entirely different meaning much later. Lately the journey has become strange in many ways for me - it is clear I am directed to something in particular ahead. The contours of it start to take shape, to detach itself from the background of unknown future. It is not a choice I made but the result of a choice I made. Part of me is still who I was before, but today I am under construction to be able to be useful tomorrow in the divine design. I look back often to become better prepared for what is ahead.

As always a no hold back, tell it like it is, right from the heart poem that speaks for a lot of us who bravely keep moving forward when our minds tell us to seek cover. Well done Susan.

The last line sums up how strong a person you are who accepts no namby pamby love affairs. commit or go your way.
