It all begins with a smile

HE thought about poppin' his pill
but still he wrings his hands
wondering if all of those commercials
were really true . . .

they didn't know HER

SHE thought about poppin' her pill
but still she thinks she is
way too fat to wear a thong
at her age. . .

they didn't know HIM

day in day out the commercials play
and promise and promote and perjure
for the wall street pimps,
for the pharmaceutical philanderers,
and for the man and woman who forgot
to use their tongues to do more than lick and suck for a thrill
instead of priming their desire to tickle their ears with loving words

the skill to make one giggle is the most tantric of aphrodisiacs

In quest of making things easier, we all have forgotten a lot of things. Worst, we have forgotten that once the thing is easy, it is no more "wanted"...But one cant do much for those who have forgotten the basics. And those who have lost their roots dont have a choice but to flow along for they are lost. And they have lost the courage to re-discover. Fear of facing the realities is much larger than one wishes to admit. And of one admits, he would be back on track at once!!

Well done Cynth'ya! We are "a most pill poppin society." One focused not on prevention, nor cure, but mostly on management of disease and pain. If we found a pill that would cure cancer or any of the other "big" diseases, I doubt if the industry would make it available to the public in the necessary amounts needed! We make billions of dollars from the diseases of today! That in it's self is big business. Sad, but true! Great poem!

Humor is the world's biggest turn-on. One of the things that first attracted me to Andy. The three actors I would date in fantasy land are John Cleese, Billy Connolly and Robin Williams, so I agree that laughter is an amazing aphrodisiac.

Good thinking, Cynth'ya. There's a pill for everything nowadays. And they can enhance the 'mechanics'of it all, but they can't put a relationship where there wasn't one in the first place. I enjoyed your poem. It is well done.

Ain't that the truth! I often watch in amusement as the pharmaceutical commercial spots describe a multitude of nasty side effects that often sound worse than the original malady.

Cynth'ya, I don't know that one can get too big for a thong...afterall, the marketers just add another yard of material!
but personally I do believe that the drug companies just need to stop. They have a pill or fifteen for everything imaginable to mankind...
I find myself screaming loudly...Take us back to the basics!
