tolerable traits

Marriage is like a toilet bowl. It better when it's free flowing and stain-free. But when your flow gets clogged, don't expect the odor of your old crap to change just because you don't like the looks of the old toilet bowl and decide to put in a brand new bowl. Clean the septic mess out of your marriage; put on the gloves and the hip books and just do what you gotta do

old love ain't
too much different
than a broken pinky toe;
the disfiguring pains of change
may be more than one can tolerate,
but the toe still fits inside the old shoe,
and does its best to balance
the troubles of this world
