Posted these words at 3:33 a.m. Perhaps this is God's way in poetics to remind me that He can both save and destroy with water to make us all more grateful breath of love, and for breath of life.

--day one--

The surface of earth’s skin / engorg'd beyond recognition

offers past and present woes / prays for angels to cast faint shadows as evidence of the morrow’s hope. . .

--day two--

Dreams of the people are drown'd in redden'd sorrow
The tears and the rain wet them over and over with brine from angry fountains of survivors. . .

--day three--

But for the others / they still hear the screaming of the lost, they cannot erase the mildew of disbelief from the floating family trees/ & those who'd hope to escape now anchor against their will at the invisble port of legacy. . .

--day eternal--

Wretch'd tropical ghost ship has hoist'd anchor / was christen'd
by Saint Katrina who perched like a Captain's brat grandchild flailing tantrums on the bow of peril / continuing her squall in the valleys, sailing over seas of unsung blues

. . . daring us to blink again.

Cynth�ya, although this terrible disaster has affected so many lives who live in the �Gulf Region� of our country, you�d think that the federal government would or could have responded sooner, even though they �used� New Orleans as a centerpiece for their �computer simulated� disaster planning. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing it. Take good care and be well.

The so verye famous area Has turned into a swamp.
It must be hell there. In a race against time.
No food, water, leccky. Worse of all no homes to return to.Or hospitals.
A frightful disaster of the worse degree.

Cynth'ya,

Very heartfelt write. One of the best I've seen about the hurricane and the catastrophe it caused. I have often wondered why it takes a disaster to bring people together. The words, " One Nation Under God " should always hold a special meaning for everyone.
