minglings of water, blood and clay
cover a thousand sins of war--
conceal secrets of unequal treatment
mask intentions of the esteem elite
who are insured from humanity's blight,
while the bellies of the walking dead
bloat and give birth to malignant neglect
. . .but politics as usual
will host vigils of silent prayer
holding short-wick'd candles
lit with monogramm'd silver lighters
as lips from golden bugles spit 'Taps'
while thanking the wrong god
for sparing them from nature's wrath

Mayan Tragedy - October 11, 2005
it sums the tragedis of our time
thanks for sharing
love and peace
Eye-opening, excellent, heartbreaking write; seems, though, that too many of the so-called "wrong" blood (i.e., not white) suffered so much more, as well as the elderly, the disabled, the poor...hard hitting truth in your provocative words. Thank you, you've penned a keeper.

'Same blood' is a highly vital poem of extremely crucial message! We are sharing the same blood as 'the bellies of the walking dead (that)
bloat and give birth to neglect..'and must continue to impart message and way of life to open such eyes, and save the future from the same! Strongly written by a powerful messenger!! Well Done Cynth'ya!
