Poem Artwork

over-stuff'd packages full of egomanias start'd
bustin' loose in the middle; they expos'd such
livid patterns of coverups and cold-heart'd
inequities that feed the fat of priviledg'd parasites as
grief stricken farmers gather crumbs of thanks
awkwardly wobbling in a maze of fallow acres
that took their livelihood away; they ain't too proud to beg
instead, those having less just make the best of the routine
owning less than nothing; owing more than everything,
naturally condition'd be content in a Frigidaire condo while
sipping from a dent'd canteen of sour'd American dreams.

Lord have mercy. This is the state of our nation. As always, your expression is the epitome of clarity and empathy.
