against all the odds
that meant to scorch her;
haters slap her down,
set up snares at night,
pricking at her joy,

lifts the shadow veil,

raises holy fists,

content and clueless,

"Coming soon. . .the biography of Gwendolyn Peters, CEO and founder of The UBU Company (www.ubucompany.org), a non-profit organization whose mission is to stand up for the rights of adults who need life-skills support. Gwen, a.k.a. "Summer Snow" is also a professional midlife comedienne, entrepreneurial clown, Red Cross volunteer and motivational speaker.
Cynth'ya and Gwen grew up together and were separated by circumstance at ages 14 and 15 respectively. Gwen and Cyn were friends, attended church together. Pregnancy and tragedy caused the two of them to be separated, never seeing each other again until a God-ordained chance meeting in a restaurant named "Morano's" in Anderson, Indiana after 38 years of separation when a friend in a band whom they both knew, Teddy Patterson, saw Gwen and two friends come into the restaurant, and pointed out Cynth'ya and her husband Kenny sitting together at a table. Their were three empty seats at that table, and Teddy said, "see that couple over there, ask them if it's okay to sit with them.
The rest is a happy reunion, and discover of many parallel events in the lives of both Gwen Peters, Cynth'ya Reed, and even those who were close to them in their lives. It was like the circle of friendship was reconnected with a bond that is connected by the Holy Spirit of Universal Oneness, the one and only God of the Earth, Sea and Sky.
Having endured one of many operations resulting from having been in a near-fatal accident in the year 1989, in the same time sequence her son's life was taken. Not long after that, Summer lost her 7-year old granddaughter whom she raised to cancer. Gwen has devoted her life to traveling the world and touching the lives of those who deserve to have a second chance to pursue peace in their lives.
Summer is on a campaign to advocate for "the forgotten", special needs adults who have the minds and hearts of children, but are trapped in adult bodies in an uncaring world. Summer Snow is also part of Team Vision of YTB Travel.
