Gas. . .ain't it a gas?

gas increasing day the day
"will we need horses, oats and hay?"

decisions not so easy now,
"fill up the tank or sell the cow?"

financial landscape frayed & fringed
are barons laughing while we cringe?

garage the car and catch the bus
"why is our nation reaming us?"

prices are so huge it's cruel
so why be used like senseless fools?

"fill 'er up"
instills such fright
perhaps we should
just buy used bikes.

Cynth'ya...I actually saw a sign like that when we had the gas shortages back in the early seventies...I was stationed at Kaneohe MCAS at the time. It's an unfortunate sign of the times and it does not help that folks cater to the oil companies but contining the one sided love affair with gas guzzling SUVs...I love this quirkly write of yours.

I agree, I couldn't believe my eyes...yesterday on my way to work gas was 3.09 for unleaded and 3.19 for plus...as I came home yesterday the prices had changed! In a short few hours unleaded had soared to 3.19 and plus 3.29! I still don't understand how the price of gas could climb ten cents in a few hours! Enjoyed the write, looks like we are going to have to go back to horse and buggies or just horses, I think I would fare better on a horse than a bicycle...I've got about a twelve mile one way drive to work! Enjoyed!

Very succinct reasons for all Americans to boycott as many oil companies AND "those people" in DC gouge even deeper into our pockets. Time for a crystal ball????
