It's a vivid illustration of the ills that we as a nation suffer from...and don't seem willing to change.
Those who do question, are labelled "unpatriotic", "liberals", or some such label...
We have forgotten the basics...
You keep right on doing what you are doing lady poet...it is a good thing that you do.

I am so appreciative for Sis Joyce commenting on this that I had to comment my OWN self after taking a look at how the rich GREEDY, not the rich GIVING people are taking this entire society around the world into an industrialized hell. Our politicians keep forgetting that this world is not about them, but about those they should be SERVING! Somehow they believe that if they wear a suit and not a military uniform that they should not suffer for doing the right thing. God bless our soldiers because the ones who come back ought to be able to have an open forum for 1 solid week on CSPAN around the clock to tell us the truth, the whole truth and nothin' but the naked truth.

This world is GLOBAL and when it comes to this nation of ours thinking we don't need to be concerned about others and their plights, it makes we want to go to Washington and just pop the entire Congress and Supreme Court upside the head. So many issues out there are more important that who sleeps with whom and where to build the next WalMart, honey you know God just don't like ugly. The reasons we are so sick and diseases are on the increase in newborns and adults the world over is that we're over here in the US doing the Greenpeace thing while other former 3rd world nations are industrializing the daylights out of their communities. This mess is caught up in the jetstream and the waters/airflow, and coming right over here in the products we buy FROM CHINA!!! Look at the tags in the stores. Lead in the brain is a direct connection to the rise in alzheimers, and the medicines do no good. We have to educate ourselves, detox our bodies the RIGHT way because all most detoxes are just colon flushers. That's okay, but what about the heart, liver, kidneys, brain, lungs. . .people don't have to be smokers to have cancer anymore. People don't have to be lazy to get heart disease anymore. It's all the politics, lack of truth in what we should be doing to help the people. . . and where there's a lie, there's a devil running loose and sitting in a high office.

Wow! What an article and what a write! Your poem puts the entire article into perspective! Sad what kinds of conditions that humans live in! Especially breaks my heart for the children! You've penned it well, very powerful!
