ya-comfy?

by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed — Read all 584 poems by Cynth'ya Lewis Reed

Nothin' at all wrong with looking nice. But family, is it that we forget all about the fact that we grow older with the holidays, we're supposed to be getting wiser instead of acting like the age bracket that's supposed to look up to us. . . . I'd cringe if my great grandmother had a boob job. I don't want to have my great aunts look like coke bottles. They wouldn't be as much fun to hug (unless you're a twisted newphew). And mercy, what happens when the get old and fall and can't get up!? Happy non-selfish holidays to all.

Poem Artwork

now tuck that belly
vac that fat
plump up them boobs
all sagg'd & flat;
fade those age spots
weave that hair
brazilian wax
those lips down there;
pierce aging  nipples
make 'em cute
for those who seek
new birthday suits;
but all i want is half a brain
so i can still recall my name;

just keep me comfy-warm-n-safe
with skin cream so my butt won't chafe;
give bifocals for my eyes
instead of suction for my thighs;
so many think of self alone
instead of those who have no home
no shoes no food no hope or prayer,
if looks brought peace, we're almost there.

Seriously? Cynth'ya...I would not be happy with a woman who had plastic body parts anyway...but those falling down sagging chi chis melt me twenty-twelve ways from Sunday...d'licious d'light. Forget tattoos or piercings...that will drive me away forever. I love women to be real and not altered in any way. I love BBW and skinny women alike and those that act their age can still be young at heart...all is what is inside that counts. Great write.

Spot on!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why can't people be satisfied with whom they are? It's because the media saturates our brain with images of their idea of perfection. (And it's white, blonde, blue eyed, skinny, ad nauseaum.) Those of us with brown hair/eyes/skin or an extra ounce of fat are made to feel less than human. Sad, isn't it? Ain't happy with my belly fat, but ain't messing with God's handiwork--take me as I am, brown haired/eyed/fat white chick! :) Love how your mind works--God bless you! And Merry Christmas to you, Ken, and the YTB team! (Tell 'em Howdy from Texas.)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Anyone who messes with what God gave them must have rocks for brains! I am not happy with how I look (too short, my nose--too "puggy"--), but I am NOT going to alter what God made! I'd be cazy to; might as well be happy with what I have been dealt with in life! Besides, I am NOT into plastic surgery: too many false promises, broken dreams; and besides, I had a friend who DIED as a result OF plastic surgery. She was not EVEN fifty three when she died; she couldn't get past the wrinkles she had (picked cotton as a child; had premature wrinkles; yet she was a beautiful person, inside AND out!). Look where it got her: a ticket to the grave. Too, too young! Tragic! I still miss her!!

Very well penned; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <

Your photograph sure does pose decorations to a new level! If we ever get out of the mentality of "me" we might find this world in a better place.....God Bless and hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas...

Be safe,
Karen
