Teachers abusing children getting away with it? God help our public education system!

First, an April 1, 2008 (no fooling) story from Channel 22 News, Station WWLP in Springfield, Mass.

April 1, 2008 6:10 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) The bullying crisis in many Massachusetts schools raises its ugly head again and 22News explores one overlooked reason for the chronic problem.

22News spoke to Springfield Central High School students who pin part of the blame on the way teenage movies often glorifying bullies.

We don't have to look any further then "Drillbit Taylor", a teen targeted comedy where some terrified students hire a bodyguard to protect them from sadistic bullies. The sadism is depicted in graphic detail.

Central High School senior Sarah Andrekus told 22News she was victimized by bullies while attending middle school. She's furious that movies portray bullying as a normal part of high school life. Fellow students Patrick Casey and Adam Farhali also told 22News that movies make it look cool to be a bully, like it's the normal thing to do.

One of our RTAs (YTB Referring Travel Affiliates) on our team family is a nurse who was interviewed in a call-in show...listen for the name Cyndie from Augusta GA on a talk show about our schools not addressing threats, and how teachers sometimes allow our children to be killed on campuses by other students. Stats are that teachers are bullied by administrators 20 percent of the time. Teachers bully students 45 percent of the time. Students bully students 77 percent of the time. Listen to what teachers go thru and why we thank GOD that YTB is taking Kenny out of teaching this year!!! There is a study called "The Lucifer Effect" out of Stanford University about sadistic bullying which is both epidemic and systemic.

Interesting topic because my oldest son was being molested by his first grade teacher and this continued for three months before I realized what was going on. Other children in the class were being locked in their lockers, closet, some with their hands tied behind their backs and blindfolded. My only regret was in not finding out what was going on sooner. The kicker to this, this same teacher who was brought back to teaching after being out, with pay for ten years was doing the same thing when she was released from the school ten years prior.
