I am living the dream, Cynth'ya. I don't mind working hard to get what I need from life and I am not a slave to those things that I might want. "The American Dream" seems to have taken a turn somewhere along the way to the point where many feel that they deserve things that they take no responsibility of providing for themselves. Once the American Dream included what people called opportunity which meant the ability to work as hard as necessary to provide for the needs of our families. In those days, we lived within our means and didn't worry about impressing our neighbors with things we couldn't afford. The American Dream fades away when we loose sight of the difference between our needs and our wants. Happy 4th...Excellent write.
