What is the nature of the slender baracuda?

Expect them to swim one of two ways...Solo...or among those who do not recognize it when it swims among others very different kinds of fish. In other words, they like to hide in reefs.

What is the behavior of a baracuda?
It only bothers you when you bother it. It uses two fins, the dorsal one is forked and concave. The other has many spines, but also very soft ray like fins that flutter with unspoken beauty.

But it does like pretty glittering things so leave your valuables in a safe place when diving in tropical, seemingly unobtrusive waters.

What about the teeth?
Fang-like...and uneven
in the upper sockets of the
roof of its mouth, which is
rather big to capture
leftovers from other predators.

Baracuda are known as scavengers
and do very little on their own accord.

How do people catch baracuda?
Either by fly fishing, or conventional lines.

Are they appetizing?
Well, the flesh is soft
and falls apart in soup recipes,
But when smoked, they are
absolutely delicious.

Baracuda are in a class of fish
all to themselves,  but beware...
just don't get too close--

Baracuda demand respect.
