used couch sits on the property line
of a Brooks Brothers bail'd-out bum;
folks in a tour bus on the pretty side of town
tour the castles then return to homes in crumbs
 

sitting by the side of a railroad track
is a family with no place else to turn;
the owner of the railroad is a fiend supreme
blocking out the cries of babies never heard

damn the institutions
damn the systems
damn the world
everybody play the lottery
and maybe if we're lucky
and we don't complain to much,
we might find a job that uses you and me

in the nursing home there sits a woman all alone
flowers dying faster than her brain
begging for some dignity, some courtesy, a smile
she wears a diaper reaking, soak'd & stain'd,
 

enough is not enough for those atop the filthy Wall
excessiveness to them in minimum wage,
and throngs of people in the fog are waiting for a sign,
for we realize all too late we all are slaves
 

damn the institutions
damn the systems
damn the greed
everybody worry cry and grope;
and maybe if we're smarter
and we look beyond the critics
we find our selves still trapp'd in iron ropes

On the first line, what do you see?

Right again. . . it's Uncle Sam's portion. Federal taxes, up to 39 percent.
Why are you working for $25,000 a year, and giving $9,750 to the government?

Okay, let's look at line 3: That's the STATE tax line.
You pay taxes, but where are they going? Out of your $25,000 a year job
you now have $15,250 left. The state wants part of that...at least up to 9.6 percent or
. . . $1, 464 and no change.

Finally, the last and the most FUN line: a four-letter word called "FICA" (Federal Insurance Contribution Act).
That's 15.3 pecent, (with the employer match). Do we need FICA? Well, it's a tax...you can take it up from there.

The amount of money you have, just getting up every day, based on the lie of $25,000 a year is a whopping $13.786....OH NO THAT'S NOT RIGHT! We forgot FICA: $3,975....gone.


Now. how much money do you have working one job, 40 hours a week, no benefits to sneeze at, a boss that you can't get along with and even if you could your boss won't pay your bills because he/she can't pay their own which is probably why they are such a grouch. . . Your $25,000 a year job actually only pays your family, on average....just a little over $9,000.

Exactly $9,025 to live on.

Now, what do business owners do? They make a lot, spend it all, and pay the government nothing while keeping all the goodies.

It's a lesson that more of us need to learn, isn't it. For those working a job that pays $25,000, you are giving up freely on your W4, regardless of your so called exemptions: $15,975.00 ....not including contributions from your paycheck to help a worthy cause like United Way; not including daycare, not including medical deductions (if any) not including life insurance, not including...A HOME!; not including just having a little food in the fridge; not including taking care of your children, your college, your loan payments that take out money because the mail didn't arrive on time and they tack on another $75 late fee, plus interest; not including cable tv and the Playboy channel which, unless you're a Playboy Bunny ain't payin' zilch to those who watch it; not including video games of systems that cost more than owning a YTB business that will pay you $1,000 everytime it grows by 6 people.....

and you can't even take a decent vacation. . . . tsk tsk....

Learn the lesson of owning the best...YTB and Aisle19 because with or without us, more people are going to be create their own bailout while everyone else shakes in their slippers looking for a job as their only answer.
