We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Oscar Wilde wHole In The Pocket The stitch was loose, the thread hung low The tension weak in patterned row That held 2 hearts, content and safe Secure and loved, in passions wake Then love fell thru, without a sound And rolled in circles, gutter bound A downward glance might just have shown The need to mend, loose pockets prone

This is an excellent metaphor you have used in this piece. Sometimes the weak links (or loose threads) are right there in front of our eyes, yet we don't see them till stuff starts leaking out of our pockets. Very well said.

Brilliant quote, pic and poem to match, Anita! Such wisdom with so few lines that are quite perfectly stitched, sewn and interwoven - and such clarity of thought! I guess that walking around star-gazing and with head in the clouds leads to unreality for some and to a denial of the truth for others. Whereas keeping your hands in each other's pockets means that you at least THINK you have a feel for what is actually going on!!?
