The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of
the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft,
close embrace. - Kate Chopin

~~~Rendezvous By Ancient Pledge~~~
Their passion of a million years
Showered sprays of salty tears
Waves of thrust in stormed collide
Upon white crests, did currents ride
When tides would wail in raphosdy
She came to life, upon the sea
He was the solid rock of time
To swell and mount in lyric climb
And when the sea, in gentle wave
Would lull to slumber tempest craved
He'd search the sea, both night and day
By calm horizons mocked betray
But as the moon would rule the tides
Eventually she'd would rise and sigh
And fling to fury on her love
Beneath the heavens up above
A spirit solid trapped in stone
Before the times, when time was known
Who waits with faith, at water's edge
To rendezvous by ancient pledge
Taim i' ngra leat
Holy Lord WOMAN!
I read this through a couple of
times and found a metaphysical
lift in the middle of the longing.
I would have to call this...
inspiring...and absolutely beautiful!
Was just thinking "Lady Sings The Blues", and "I'm Still Waiting"... this obviously has some Diana Ross over/undertones for me! Reckon I could certainly wait at that water's edge forever... Beautiful ebb and flow to this one, Anita! Sorry I confused with "Sweet Painted Ladies" - I explained it on the page later!! TY Kate xx
