Poem Artwork

My friend Daibhidh MacAdhaimh, invited me to write a poem for one of his wonderful paintings. Sort of a surreal mountain range, with male and female suggestions.  Initially my comic switch flipped on and I was tempted to interperet the painting in an amusing way.  I saw an old couple, watching the universe, side by side, like a TV set. But instead of the boob tube I saw them watching the sun, and stars, the seasons, and life.  But Daibhidh encouraged me to look at the picture from a different view, he drew out the dramatic in me... the romantic...and this is the result.....Thanks Daibhidh .......Cluck

Love Is Always....And Begun

Reclined and primed beneath the peak
Underneath the shaft's physique
Bedrock cleft as sheath for summit
On the passions of the plummet

By the shakes and quakes of earth
Solid rock would probe on worth
Before the mark of counting time
The mount of love was ever climbed

Warmed by  mists of hazy dusk
Peaked and mounded, draped in lust
Moistness soothing on release
Climax shadows blend in peace

Firmly anchored and attached
Steadfast catch, the perfect match
No chance of drifting far away
Love has chosen where to stay

Side by side beneath the skies
Windsongs carry lover's sighs
Reflected in a twlight sun
Love is always.......and begun

This ink will bever dry because of the constant movement of passions wreathing in the beauty of this pen and the master's art.
I salute you for taking art, moving it around with words and painting the awesome climax.

This is a true compliment to the painting and the artist, words themselves are like light brush strokes grazing the edges of the canvass to illuminate and add texture where it is needed. Well done my friend.

Alice from the Land of Wonder ...

Again you bespatter everything around me except your scintillated verse. I am sure that the artist must be quite enamored with the interpretive fortitude of this piece.

You possess a mind unparalleled in this writers mind. Squeezing different ripe fruits together as the ink of simile, your quill seeks out those lands unknown, and when they are found, you write how they look, and feel, and smell.

I see a colorful scindapsus as adornment around the tent where you create, and a pure well of water that you dip from.

Such beauty can never be contained, it must be shared, and in the sharing, it is those peaks of grandeur that the writer attained in the writing of the piece, that must be experienced by the reader.

Having said this, I commend you Alice from the Land of Wonder, and promote you to GODDESS OF THE PEN.

Thus it is spoken and done forevermore. Amen! Bergman agrees too!

You Rock!

The gently restrained language matches beautifully the soft erotic suggestiveness of the painting. Great art apparently begets great art:-)

I can see how you would want to go comic with this. Your poem plays on levels of meaning like the picture (which is very cool, by the way). The sensuality is expressed at a "peak" of perfection. Loved it. JM

I liked how you used sensual words that could be overtly sexual if misused, but in your way of using them they have a musical rhythmic quality and a delicacy.

You do the dramatic and romantic quite too well...glad am I that Dai did not ask me to do something with this neat pic as my funny bone is tickling...Ed

Sensuous! Adds a different dimension to the idea of heights - the subtle erotic route reaching those heights and also depths of sensation within us that we are all too often coy about to speak off or indulge within. A stirring of our private world couched within the embracing words of love - not lust - but the kind of love of commitment that fires such poetic awe. You have taken a relatively lifeless painting and breathed life into it anew with your splendid imagery. Thank you, hen.

A Beautiful picture to see. A beautiful picture to hear.
You did a wonderful job on this one.
By the way, I think the comic approach would have been interesting, too.
God Bless,
LEw
