Mist On The Wind

Poem Artwork

A friend of mine set this to melody and sings this poem, she made it so very beautiful, she has a great voice.  It sort of has a Celtic sound. Very haunting and romantic. I was blown away when I heard what she did.

Mist on the Wind

If I could fly like the mist on the wind
A journey to you, I would begin
I'd gently surround you and cloak you from harm
Lay my head on your chest, hold you tight in my arms

Trace the curve of your lips and the line of your jaw
Not an inch or a curve of you, would I ignore
With reverence I'd kiss you, till I couldn't breathe
My greatest indulgence, in extent or degree

I'd be as one moonstruck, crazed and bemused
My love so intense, but never confused
If I could appear, in the flesh, by your side
And carry you off on the wind for a ride

To a locale well hidden, obscured from the view
The inhabitants intimate....just me and you
If it were possible, I would be there now
Like mist on the wind, someway somehow

Beautiful! I'm a scot by ancestry. Take me! I'll go!. Ask your friend to do Long Gone Love to music. I'd like to hear this one, too. Thanks-Jerry- Just one question: How the hell have I missed you? I've been lazy for the last several months, so nobody comes to see me anymore. I guess I have to correct that, when I'm missing poets like you.

Anita, this should be a song it's so lyrical and lovely, I can hear the melody...I hope you follow up on it and try to get it published as a song,it's certainly worthy of it!

I can see how this could be set to music. It reads musical. Maybe some day you can repost it and include the music to it. Good read.
