Through the beauty of a sunrise
And the wisdom of the wind
The Lord began to surmise
Over whom He could depend
Then, He took the strength from mountains;
The stillness from the placid sea
To unite them with the fountains
That would form our legacy.
He took the rainbow’s shading
Filled with glory and with light
And conjoined it with the grading
Of a hillside’s uphill flight
To create a blessed being
Made of kindness, faith and will
Never possibly foreseeing
All this angel would instill.
When this cherub came from Heaven
To reside upon the earth
His spirit was finely leavened
By the reasons for his worth
As he came to be a Father
Prepared to nurture and to raise
His sacred children, sons or daughters
In times of both loss and praise.
Through the beauty of a sunrise
On a day, now long ago
The Lord began to surmise
Over how this world could grow
So, He sent His unique servants;
The most valued that He had
To the earth as special parents –
In the form of loving Dads.
