Painted pastel flowers
On a music box of white
Silent April showers
That tumble in much delight
Note cards on the table
Waiting there to be addressed
Children’s bedtime fables
As the sun sets in the west.
Misty dewdrops streaking
Like a slow array of tears
Happiness in peeking
Back in time over the years
Visions of tomorrow
In each corner one will turn
Sacred gifts we borrow
Whose favors we shall return.
Painted pastel flowers
Etched in violet, etched in blue
Silent April showers
Falling for the day anew
Precious words embellished
Deep within the heart always
Are treasures wise and relished
When true friendship lights the way.
