The Lord looked ‘cross the clouds one day
Where two angels had stopped to play
Together, they twirled ‘round and ‘round
‘Til one of them fell to the ground
The tumbling angel froze in fear
And prayed his friend would reappear
As slowly he fell to the earth
Where he would find his sense of worth.
This cherub who had lost his wings
At first, needed so many things
But, in his home, was profound love
That had been sent from far above
His caretakers were Mom and Dad
Two gentle souls, modest and glad
This angel boy had come to be
A member of their family.
As years progressed, this angel child
Enjoyed days both calm and wild
Within his heart, he missed his friend
But knew they would meet in the end
When the Lord looked across the sky
And deemed a time to say goodbye
To paths that once led him astray
From where two angels stopped to play.
