Our Destiny

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A fictional poem about one's hope for love.

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Poem Artwork

Each evening, I look to the stars
And pray that God will see
The love inside that could be ours
If it is meant to be
Yet, while I watch the sky grow faint
As darkness fades to light
I realize that no one could taint
The hope I hold, each night.

Within my heart, there is a dream
Unlike any I’ve known
A providence so sure to gleam
True love to call our own
If time should serve to be a friend
And grant my soul this prayer
I’ll stay with you, until the end
To prove how much I care.

You are a sacred breath of calm
Whose legacy inspires
A gift beheld within my palm
And all my heart desires
When I peer to the stars each eve
I pray that God will see
The love for you that I believe
Shall be our destiny.

Cravings and yearnings for true love never die, we sometimes compromise and accept but usually end up regretting it. Well said Jill,
Felix
