Poem Artwork

If my arms become weary, Lord
Please hold me in Your grace
Then, take my hand and be my sword
Through each challenge I face
Enrich my life with faith and might
From morn ‘til day has gone
And keep my family in Your sight
So they shall remain strong.

If my heart becomes heavy, Lord
Please shine your sacred will
Upon my path so I’ll strive toward
The tasks I must fulfill
Direct my progress should I fall
Somewhere along the way
And be the source to which I call
Should grief lead me astray.

If my soul becomes fragile, Lord
Lead me across the sky
Then, see my hope has been restored
When evening hours are nigh
Each moment on this battlefield
I know that You are there
Please be my comrades’ guard and shield
This is my only prayer.

Wonderful write. I am praying for our young men in combat every day. My prayers go beyond today. The go to all their tomorrows. War is a horrible thing but we know not how to avoid it. Those young men will have nightmares for the rest of their life. I know those in World War II who did. Those in Vietnam were especially hurt. Pray for them to come home safely but pray some more that they can draw faith to live the rest of their lives.
God Bless,
Lew

"Lead Me: A Soldier’s Prayer"
Oh, what a wonderful and strong write.
Many thanks to you for creating such a dedication.
An awesome construction and execution I might add.
Henceforth, also a most endearing prayer!

Thank you many times over and with love!

I like not just the sentiment behind this touching prayer, but the eloquence of your words. Amen, Jill, Amen!
