I Had Enough

A poem about appreciating the blessings we have.

Poem Artwork

I may not have the sun and moon
Or dance among the stars
I may not spend the afternoon
Riding in fancy cars
And yet, my life has been quite blessed
Beyond what eyes can see
For while I may not have the best
I have enough for me.

I may not swim against the tide
Or scale the mountain peaks
I may not cross the countryside
For hours, days or weeks
But, I am happy in my home
With friends and family near
I have no need to stray or roam
When life, for me, is here.

I may not have a pot of gold
Or silver on my plate
But, even when I have grown old
My life shall remain great
For while I may not have the sun
Or diamonds in the rough
I will find peace, when time is done
Knowing I had enough.

This poem explains that we should be happy with what we got. It seems we think we need more and never have enough. God gives us as he wants us to have and we must live accordingly. Good poetry and inspirational writing.

BEAUTIFUL, Jill. I've been totally satisfied with the blessings God gives. He makes them new, every morning, starting with the breath in my lungs and words in my pen. Gifts! As are your words; thank you!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Humility in a fast paced consumerist world where folk are measured by material or sensational achievement rather than who we are, is a rare commodity.

Inspiring write.

But alas, you have peace and contentment in this troubled world and are thankful. A truly wise young girl I'd say!
