Newborn Butterfly

A poem about how a wonder of nature can provide a sense of inner calm and hopefulness when we need it the most.

Poem Artwork

One day, when I was feeling low
Unsure of which way I should go
I went outside to clear my head
But opted for a walk, instead
I started down a wooded trail
And stared at each innate detail
From the trunks of the native trees
To hives built by the honeybees.

The splendor brought joy to my heart
As I embraced God’s work of art
Even though I had yet to find
A sight that gave me peace of mind
I ambled forth, that summer day
As blue skies cleared the clouds of gray
Still praying that the sun would shine
Upon a sense of hope, divine.

Morning became the afternoon
As bluebirds sang a charming tune
To serenade me, as I strolled
Allowing nature to unfold
Soon after, I was moved to tears
When the sign I had longed for years
Was nevermore a passing guise
But, resting there before my eyes.

A white cocoon, found on a leaf
Enriched my mind with the belief
That everything comes in God’s time
Despite the mountains we must climb
Once more upon the scene, I glanced
Then turned away, my mood enhanced
When suddenly, across the sky
I saw a newborn butterfly!

Jill,

If we would only take the time to notice the small things, we would discover they are not so insignificant after all. Most beautiful reminder to take a pause and thank God for every blessing!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Blessed are those that sing Nature's creativity.

"Newborn Butterfly" flows from the stream of beauty and glows the wonders of Nature.

That was beautiful. I often feel that when I take my daily walks. My son laughs when I stop and close my eyes with the sun on my face. I always say a quick prayer, thankful for the sun that He shines on my face. It is renewing.
God Bless,
Rebecca
