Although the mountains I must climb
Might be rigid and steep
I’ll go through life and take my time
With much goodness to reap
I’ll frolic in the ocean blue
And dream beneath the stars
So, when my final day is through
I’ll have no lasting scars.
I’ll vow to take each path in stride
And seldom know remorse
My faith shall be my strength and guide
Along the charted course
I’ll give more than my soul could take
And never feel bereft
So, when in Heaven I awake
I’ll know I’ve nothing left.
Although the mountains I must climb
Might be rocky and high
I’ll go through life and take my time
With your love, standing by
Your courage serves to anchor me
My heart is yours to keep
Throughout the journeys that shall be
These years, before I sleep.
