One Miracle

A poem expressing the debt of gratitude that we often feel toward our friends.

Poem Artwork

Upon a thousand angels’ wings
Across the skies of blue
The morning sunrise once more brings
My heart to be with you
Continuing a sense of bliss
From which I’ll never roam
Nothing could matter more than this
With you, I am at home.

Each day we’ve shared has been surreal
So beautiful and sweet
No greater respect could I feel
For anyone I’d meet
You’ve shown me what it means to care
While giving selflessly
Thanks to the fact you have been there
You’ve brought the best in me.

Upon a thousand angels’ wings
Across the seas of green
The morning sunrise once more brings
One miracle I’ve seen
A friendship that has stretched beyond
The daybreak’s vibrant rays
And touched a place I will hold fond
Forever and always.

Friends are God's extension of His Hands, in the flesh so to speak! To give hugs, encouragement, love when feeling loveless, exhorter when you feel everyone has forsaken you, listener when you feel nobody else could understand, the bridge when you can't continue over the troubled waters! When God is the head of the friendship...what music, melody, and muse you can enjoy just for being you!
This started my muse in celebration!
Peace&Grace,
Sharon

We normally reserve such poetic splendour for romantic relationships. Very rare indeed is friendship itself deservedly accorded the fine wine of a poet's muse. Moreover, very rare is the homage that has mounted upon the wings of such a fine write. This soaring flight of gratitude towards your esteemed friend is infectious this morning.
