Poem Artwork

When I was young, I used to dream
Of places far and wide
But now, those stunning visions seem
To slumber by my side
Throughout my life, I’ve seen the world -
Each tour helped me to grow
And grow I shall with arms unfurled
Until my time to go.

I’ve viewed the rolling hills of green
The forests and the trees
Each spectacle that I have seen
Has brought me to my knees
The splendor I’ve observed, firsthand
Sharp cliffs and steep plateaus
Conveys the beauty of our land
And the joy her wealth bestows.

When I was young, I used to dream
Of places in the distance
But now, those stunning visions seem
To shelter my existence
During my life, I’ve seen the earth –
I’ve followed her every bend
And, I shall thrive amid her worth
‘Til I reach the rainbow’s end.

Ahh tis true when we get older we do tend to look back in wonder and amusement at the things we have lived through and seen. The world and the paths we travel through our maze of time we spend here offers ups and downs, good times and bad, laughter and tears and in other words we must savor it all. This write is wise beyond your young years Jill but beautifully done.
