Poem Artwork

Staring toward a bright tomorrow
With the future in your hands
Nothing but sweet time to borrow
You embark upon your plans
While this page in life is turning
Past a chapter at its close
You will constantly be learning
As you stride the paths you chose.

Your childhood has all but faded
But, do not ask how or why
This is the time for which you’ve waited
Soon, you’ll spread your wings and fly
Toward the dreams you have respected
Since the days of toys and dolls
May each be as you expected
Once you travel from these halls.

Gazing toward the independence
Which awaits you at each bend
You’ll begin your brave transcendence
Toward the world you will befriend
This chapter is now concluding
Yet, a bolder phase will start
When your goals, so long eluding
Meet the knowledge in your heart.
