Again, we've reached the time of year
When Mom deserves our praise
Yet, while this time should bring us cheer
Eyebrows, Mom's Day can raise
What do we buy the one we love
More than we love our life
Since she now has an oven glove
And last year's lame cheeseknife.
We could buy her a fancy vase
And a stuffed teddy bear
We'll need a backup plan, in case
These gestures lack true flare
Maybe a dinner or a pass
To some ritzy day spa
But, then again, these things won't last
Beyond one moment's awe.
Each Mother is quite different, true
No two are just the same
Yet, before shopping gets to you
I offer you this claim
The perfect gift, need not be hard
For anyone to find
Regard the advice of this bard
And look within your mind.
Write down why you love Mom the most
Why does she make you smile
Maybe she cooks the best French toast
Or has interesting style
Then, share your heartfelt thoughts with her
In your own trendy way
And you’ll both be likely to endure
A special Mother's Day!
