Poem Artwork

I’ll never see another star
As brilliant or as bright
I’ll never travel miles afar
With such willpower and might
I’ll never listen for the sound
In shells upon the sand
As in the days you were around
And softly took my hand.

I’ll never know another song
From the start ‘til the end
I’ll never feel that I am strong
With nothing to defend
I’ll never climb the highest tree
From morn ‘til day is done
As when you were here next to me
My dear and only one.

I’ll never shed a silent tear
And feel a sense of grace
I’ll never look into a mirror
Without seeing your face
Into my life, you brought great things
Each moment played its part
But, from the grief your passing brings
I’ll never mend my heart.
