On your birthday, this much I pray
For sun-filled skies, lasting all day
A time when all your tasks shall rest
Where in the quiet, you’ll be blessed
I pray, before the night is through
Each wish you make will become true
So every memory you possess
Shall be noted for its success.
I pray you’ll catch a falling star
And every dream, kept miles afar
Beneath the moon, whose light shall glow
Upon the hours, you’ve yet to know
I pray you’ll swim in seas of green
More beautiful than eyes have seen
So, once your day has come and passed
The loveliness is sure to last.
On your birthday, I send this prayer
For moments filled with love and care
A time when happiness is found
Within the blissfulness abound
I pray, before these moments fall
You’ll see the treasures, large and small
And think of them, in each review
Of my birthday tribute to you.
