Poem Artwork

I will let go of ties that bind
And bitter hands of fate
I’ll stop to see how I was blind
Before it is too late
I’ll place aside the past I’ve known –
The times of angst and dread
Then, celebrate my life, alone
With all its days ahead.

I will let go of grief and loss
One memory at a time
Realize, at last, I am the boss
Of a life, in its prime
I’ll wake when the first hints of dawn
Appear within my view
Then, treasure each, as I move on
Toward the goals I’ll pursue.

I will let go of every seed
That opted not to grow –
The things in life I did not need
Which have haunted me so
Then, go forth from this sacred day
Much better than before
As I continue on my way
To what still lies in store.

Jill, this is truly a commitment to correct any wrongs that you have committed and to celebrate a renewal in the future. This has a stong message for anyone who will read this poem...it made me stop and realize I have faults too. I love your poetry.
