The world I know has gone quiet
Not one distinct echo is heard
Once filled with unrest and riot
Now, my ears cannot hear a word
This life and the lessons I’m learning
Changed from the existence I knew
Yet, I will endure, always yearning
For sound, once the crisis is through.
I cannot describe how I’m feeling
The hours are painfully slow
I see others are ranting and reeling
But, what they’ve said, I’ll never know
I live in a world, trapped by silence
And, yet I feel wonderfully blessed
I rely on others for guidance
But, know I will soon pass this test.
The world I know, lost in deafness
Will not be a time lived in vain
I will adapt, amid the distress
And I will not ever complain
Our lives offer no explanations
Therefore, I’ve no cause for concern
So, I’ll live through the moment’s frustrations
And pray for the sound to return.

This reveals a certain amount of spiritual maturity. The question now is why are you being testing, (if in fact you are) and what is God trying to show you through the experience. When it is over will you be wiser, and will you share what you've learned with others.
Is poetry and writing more visual than aural? What would happen to radio stations if everyone was deaf and could only read with their eyes?
The body malfunctioning in any way is a multi-faceted emotional experience that will challenge anyone. I am struggling right now with a bug that makes the whole body ache miserably. Lucky me!
I pray that God by His Holy Spirit will open your spiritual eyes, and in this process you will grow and be nurtured with wisdom, and also that your healing will be forthcoming.
