Liberty Prayer

A prayer for our nation, in this time of independence and always.

Have a Happy and Safe Fourth of July holiday!

Dear Lord, my soul prays that Your mercy will bring,
A holiday where only freedom shall ring,
A time to acknowledge our great nation’s pride,
While pausing in homage of those who have died.
May every American’s heartbeat bleed true ,
For the stars and stripes, made of red, white, and blue.
As we honor the rights, of which we are quite fond,
Lord, grant us Your guidance, this day and beyond.

Dear Lord, my soul asks in this time of remembrance,
Please be with the troops, defending independence;
If their hearts are hurting, please help them to smile,
Protect them and lead them, across every mile.
If not for their duty, our nation would be,
Far different than our sacred Land of the Free;
So, please Lord, from dawn, ‘til the last hint of night,
Be with our brave heroes, commissioned to fight.

Dear Lord, as our nation celebrates her birth,
I pray that Your love will encompass the earth.
Please guide our lives, always, down each path we roam,
Until You are ready to call our souls, Home.
On this day, our country holds in high acclaim,
Lord, I ask these things in Your Holy name,
Please be ever present, through joy and despair,
In the sake of liberty, this is my prayer.
