I Forgive

Forgiveness often serves to be
The answer to a heartfelt plea
A pardon for acknowledged wrong
During a time, when ties aren’t strong
A second chance to start anew
In everything we say and do
A time to rise; a time to grow
Much wiser than in days ago.

A soothing balm that makes us whole
Forgiveness is formed in the soul
Granting our hearts a chance to heal
Once we are given our appeal
We will be better, in the end
If we decide we should amend
The error in our lifestyle’s ways
To reinstate happier days.

Forgiveness is life’s greatest gift
A chance to give the heart a lift
Once we’re aware our plans fell short
Before the Lord we must report
On bended knee, confessing sin
We’ll vow to never fall again
With head held high, each day we’ll live
Thankful for the words, I forgive.

Jill, you are so right in everyone of these verses...forgiving eases the heart and brings hope back to the soul. When we can't forgive, our hearts our laden with a load, and our lives become miserable, hardened, and never at peace. Thanks for sharing such a exceptional writing...I so enjoyed it!

Jill,

If we on earth can't forgive our fellow man, how can God in Heaven forgive us our sins? Something to think about, and perfectly stated in meaningful, well penned lines.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

We must learn to do this; I am having to work on this, not easy, but I have to do it. No questions asked.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :(

Pray for me?? Thanks! Also keep Karla in your prayers; having a tough time now...

Wonderful. I can forgive because I have been forgiven.
This is a beautiful tribute to God, who offers us forgiveness in His Son, and makes us able to forgive others who have wronged us.

Love,
Connie
