Left handed people are special and neat
To some, they are backwards; to others, they’re sweet
Their lives have a purpose; they use their right brain
Each lefty, committed to always sustain
They live in a world where right-handers rule
They overcome obstacles in work and school
A small population, compared to the whole
Each southpaw is born with a kind-hearted soul.

Lefties have advantages in sports and in life
Legend says that Tuesday shall bring them a wife
Some say, they’re forgetful and die in young age
But, some things are stated for the written page
Vast research has proven that lefties are wise
They are far more gifted than they realize
It has been acknowledged, lefties earn more dough
I’m sure that, in time, their benefits will grow.

Left-handed people have beautiful hearts
They often excel in music and the arts
To some, they are dreamers and far too complex
But, I think that lefties deserve much respect
Each lefty endures, though their world is reversed
Each rises to meet their dilemmas, headfirst
So, here’s to the lefties; you do things your way
I hope you have a Happy Left Handers’ Day.
