I thank you for your friendship and the support you give
I will be ever grateful throughout the days I live
You’ve always kept your distance, content to watch me shine
Yet, you’ve been so important in each dream I’ve called mine
When days are not as pleasant and hope seems far from view
However great the challenge, I can depend on you
You are there with compassion; never do you ask why
You are, indeed, an angel and you’ve helped me to fly.

I thank you for your friendship; no greater bond could be
The moments we have cherished mean the whole world to me
Some days bring us together; others leave us apart
And still, despite the distance, we are joined at the heart
Your love is unconditional; you always understand
Even when days or seasons do not go as we’ve planned
These times can leave me bitter; my heart beaten by sorrow
But, you always assure me, life will go forth tomorrow.

I thank you for your friendship; you have always been there
Over the years, you’ve shown me how much you really care
You’ve always been my beacon; my life’s true shining light
For in each hour of darkness, you’ve stayed ‘til all was right
The future is uncertain; nothing is set in stone
But, rest assured, you’ll never walk through this world alone
I’ll always be here waiting; a friend, faithful and true
