Foggy Monday at the Coast

Poem Artwork

The coast welcomed a heavy fog
One lasting all day through
The ground was as damp as a bog
Thanks to the mist and dew
The sky above was dark and gray
The air was crisp and chilled
For the shores of Galveston Bay
This was what God had willed.

The fog lingered from hour to hour
From pre-dawn to nightfall
The mist, at times, became a shower
Though, not enough to squall
The sun, on this November day
Was nary to be seen
And yet, the deep haze paved the way
For air, refreshed and clean.

The coast greeted a heavy fog
Before sunlight arrived
At times, ‘twas hard to see the dog
But, with faith, we survived
With low beams on, the hours progressed
No one was led astray
Our region safely passed the test
Of this foggy Monday.

Good write, been a long time since I saw fog off a bay so thick it showered. Great picture you penned. Lady J

Your "foggy" poem sounds like life, and when we die - I pray that all will have passed the test.

God bless you. Kathy

Great write. We have skies white as if it would snow. However we have no snow yet. In a way the white covering which blocks out the sunshine is a welcome way to relax and enjoy the darkness.
God Bless,
Lew

I love the fog and in turn enjoyed this write. There is somting that touches me deeply to be walking along the shore in a heavy fog, smelling the salt brine and hearing the lonesome blues note of a fog horn.
