My precious child, I need you so
Your smile brightens each day
You’ve taught me more than I could know
In your uncanny way
I view the world much differently
Now that you’re in my heart
You have exposed the best in me
Since our bond’s perfect start.

My precious child, you’re sweet and kind
I pray you’ll always be
Much goodness is found in my mind
Because you hold the key
Unlocking all the love I’ve stored
For someone, just like you
You are my life’s greatest reward
My special dream come true .

My precious child, with all my soul
I am grateful you’re mine
Because of you, my life is whole
You’re my reason to shine
Someday, I know I’ll leave this world
Yet, I will shed no tears
Because, with my two arms unfurled
I’ve loved you, all these years.
