Beside Me

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem about true friendship and the sacred gifts that our dearest confidantes provide to our lives.

Poem Artwork

You’ve always stood beside me
You’ve loved me when I’m wrong
You’ve shared this life’s vast beauty
As time has trudged along
We’ve conquered many stages
None were too tough to bear
The turning of life’s pages
Have shown how much you care.

You’ve always walked beside me
At morning, noon, and night
You’ve revealed all that can be
When hope is kept in sight
We’ve seen the world, together
Through every high and low
None were too much to weather
As we went with the flow.

You’ve always knelt beside me
Each time I stopped to pray
You’ve lit a path to glory
When clouds were in the way
Our lives are joined forever
Our bond is etched in stone
From here, forward, we’ll never
Walk through this world alone.

Jill your poetry is magically delicious, even though it's not erotic, so no need to be suspicious. hugs

Beautiful write, Jill; everyone needs friends, especially caring, compassionate friends like yourself. I am indeed honored that God brought me into your life! :)

Jill,

We all need friends to lean on - to celebrate the good times, to cry on their shoulders in bad - you're that to me, and more - thank you. Beautifully penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
