Good Book Blessing

On this Easter Sunday, I share a tribute to the Good Book.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Poem Artwork

A beautiful blessing appeared in the distance
A gift God sent earthbound; its purpose was true
The prospect had followed paths of least resistance
Just like the dear souls who held its worth in view
The blessing was made from such intricate fibers
A testament to how history occurred
The gift was a token God gave His subscribers
The ones who acknowledged the joy of His Word.

A tribute to the grandeur of our being
This gift brought assurance for the days to come
Within the dear souls who were finally seeing
The great work before them; each was awed and numb
The blessing brought forth, on the soft wings of angels
Commanded attention by those who had learned
Our Lord Savior Jesus died, amid the rebels
But, rose from the dead, promising to return.

A beautiful blessing appeared in the offing
A gift God sent earthbound for those who believed
That the ridicule, mockery, sneering, and scoffing
Of His Word should not ever be well-received
The blessing was made from such intricate threading
Well written in verse for those who chose to look
His lambs trotted freely and followed the heading
Set forth by the Scriptures found in the Good Book.

My favorite line..."The blessing was made from such intricate threading"
I find this SO true! It never ceases to amaze me how applicable each scripture can be to my life now...even though they were written so long ago. One of my favorite things to do is to open up the scriptures and read wherever they fall open. Almost always there is something that is EXACTLY what I needed to hear to help me, or calm my heart, or to cheer me... Without such intricate threading of the scriptures that couldn't happen. :~)
