I looked into your eyes; you looked into mine
In that very instant, the stars did align
The rest of the world seemed so worthless and small
Our love reached its paramount, once and for all
We welcomed each other with a tender kiss
Then, wondered, “Could life be more perfect than this?”
Two lives with a purpose much greater in worth
Lastly came together as lovers on earth.
For those precious seconds, so sweet and so pure
Everything in this life seemed predestined and sure
Our hearts were together; a dark page had turned
We finally felt the devotion, long yearned
With smiles abound, we both walked hand in hand
The humble beginnings of love, God had planned
Just like the comfort from a tree’s summer shade
In that very moment, our lives had it made.
I looked into your eyes; you gazed towards my soul
Both lost in the moment that made our lives whole
In that very instant, no longer apart
Our love found its foothold, deep inside the heart
No one knows for certain what might lie in store
But, from this day forward, now and evermore
I’ll always remember that time and our chance
To finally act upon our sweet romance.
