Beautiful Journey

by Jill Eisnaugle — Read all 611 poems by Jill Eisnaugle

A poem inspired by the history of my relationship with Nate, as I near the anniversary of the day we met.

Poem Artwork

A beautiful journey began late one morn
In a special place, not known for such things
It was on that morning our true love was born
With every memory, my whole heart still sings
I’ll always remember that moment in time
The images always kept near to my soul
It was on that day that my rhythm met rhyme
And the hands of angels swiftly took control.

It started so simply, with just one hello
A spark came to life and turned into a flame
You went from someone I just happened to know
To someone who proved life shall ne’er be the same
As the years progressed, we grew closer as friends
As friends, we discovered we shared something more
A love that would lead us to reach the earth’s ends
Thanks to a connection we’d not felt before.

No mountain is too great for our souls to climb
No river is too wide for our souls to scale
Our love remains grounded, still far from its prime
I know that, together, our hearts cannot fail
I’ll always recall, even as time goes forth
That pre-destined moment in God’s perfect plan
When through the spring rains, I chose to go north
And my beautiful journey with you, began.

Beautiful journey indeed Jill. You have described it in absolutely splendid form. Very well done. God bless.
