Thou shalt not waste any time
Waiting for love that is untrue
Thou shalt not live past one's prime
Without a heart in love with you
Thou shalt not be blind to truth
Realist ideals are good to know
Thou shalt not have need to sleuth
Trust is something so sure to grow.
Thou shalt not part for the night
Without grasping a peaceful thought
Thou shalt not cry ‘fore daylight
Over the ‘sweet dreams’ you forgot
Thou shalt not see the morning sun
And have the need to feel regret
Thou shalt not hurt their ‘only one’
By showing malice or neglect.
Thou shalt not leave this world too late
To say the things you should say now
Thou shalt not preach, swear or dictate
Sometimes, ‘tis best to take a bow
These Ten Commandments for the heart
Will serve to make us stronger still
Our lives may often be apart
But, love is led by Higher Will.
