Each passing wave comes shoreward
Reaching the seaside in time
In the foam, a lasting memory
Of a life, lived in its prime
Traces of the years together
Gently touch the sands of gold
Legacies shall always weather
Their spirits never grow cold
Each wave contains an image
Of dear tidings from the past
A testament of family
And remembrances to last
Slowly rolling towards the shoreline
The sea forms a silhouette
Of a life, evermore enshrined –
The sands shall never forget
Each passing wave comes inland
To embrace the golden coast
Carrying a fitting tribute
For when needed the most
As the sands welcome the sea foam
Peace forms on the coastal plain
From the shore, the ocean will roam
But, the memories shall remain.
