I’ll see you once the leaves turn gold
And pumpkins fill the field
I’ll hold you when the air turns cold
When crops are set to yield
We’ll be together, then, my love
Beneath autumn’s sunbeams
To share the blessings from above
As we fulfill our dreams.
Soon, we’ll stroll ‘cross the coastal plain
Before daylight departs
Casting to sea the wealth of pain
Distance placed in our hearts
The warmth of love shall touch our spines
And surely guide our way
Beyond written poetic lines
Our bond destined to stay.
I’ll see you when the scarecrows roam
And the World Series nears
Then, we will make a home sweet home
To last throughout the years
We’ll be together, you and I
Beneath the autumn stars
On this promise, you can rely
October will be ours.
